The Founder

Built by an Investigator

TracePath was created by a working law enforcement investigator at a U.S. metropolitan police agency. Every feature exists because a real case required it.

The product began as an internal tool. The founder was leading evidence canvassing efforts in active investigations and ran into the same operational gaps every investigator knows: footage lost to retention windows that nobody tracked. DVR systems that had to be relearned every visit. Chain-of-custody documentation handled manually, inconsistently, and often only after the fact. Time-critical decisions made without a clear operational picture.

Existing tools didn't address these problems. So the founder built one that did, in the gaps between cases, on personal time. What started as an internal solution to specific operational pressure became TracePath.

The Company

Develop Merge Group LLC

TracePath is commercialized through Develop Merge Group LLC, a Florida limited liability company formed for that purpose. The LLC owns the commercial intellectual property and offers TracePath as a SaaS platform to law enforcement agencies.

Develop Merge Group operates independently of the founder's law enforcement employer. All commercial development happens on personal time, using personal equipment. The product is offered to other agencies under standard SaaS terms.

Design Principles

What We Build, and What We Don't

TracePath is built around three operational principles.

Defensible by design.

Every snippet, every report, every action taken in the system is recorded, hashed, and traceable. Chain-of-custody integrity isn't a feature you turn on — it's how the system works at every layer.

Operational memory matters.

What one investigator learns at a location should benefit the next investigator. Retention windows, DVR configurations, access procedures — preserved across cases and across personnel, so institutional knowledge doesn't walk out the door when an officer transfers.

Investigator efficiency over surveillance breadth.

TracePath makes existing investigative work faster and more defensible. It is not a predictive policing tool. It does not perform facial recognition. It does not aggregate civilian data outside active case scope. The product helps investigators do their job better — not expand what their job is.
